Did you know that the Kunshan government keeps a copy of your salary and tax information in storage, and that it’s available to you free of charge? Here’s how you can collect your info:
Head over to the Tax Payer Service Hall along Huancheng Road. The hours are 8:00-12:00 & 13:00-16:30. You’ll need to bring a copy of your passport. I only needed a copy of the first page, but make sure to bring a copy of your visa as well, just in case. There is a free self-use copy machine located on the 4th floor in Room 402, but you may need to queue up.
The tax services are located on the 2nd floor. Head up, grab a ticket number, and wait to be called. Once called, if you can’t speak Chinese you can ask for your “tax” or “income tax” and include the years you’d like, such as “2015”, “2012-2015”, etc.
Hand over the copy of your passport and within a few minutes you’ll be given an official Chinese language document displaying your company, your passport number, dates you received your salary, your salary for that date, and the tax that was deducted. At the bottom will be the total amount of the taxes you’ve paid. And that’s it!
Kunshan Tax Payer Service Hall Address: No. 102 Huancheng North Road
