It’s the gambling capital of the world, and nope, it ain’t Las Vegas. It’s Macau—special administrative region of China, neighbor to Hong Kong, and it’s outpaced Vegas’ annual gambling revenue by as much as 7 times. And yep, I’ve been!
Oh boy, Hong Kong—have you been? It’s been one of my favorite travel destinations ever since I packed my bags, moved to China to work as an ESL teacher, and began my trek across East Asia. I first fell in love with Hong Kong during my initial 4-day visit back in 2012, and since then I’ve returned nearly several more times on solo trips and with family and friends. Here’s my list of 15+ reasons why I love Hong Kong and why you need to visit ASAP.
Greyhound buses, rental cars, never-ending highways, vast landscapes, and some of the most spectacular national scenery I've ever laid eyes upon. That's right, my trip to Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park, a top thing to do on my travel bucket list across America, proved to be nothing short of an epic adventure that would blow my mind away. No kidding.
Day 4 in Sydney. The BIG day. Why the big day? Because not only had I booked a reservation with Sydney Seaplanes for a 15-minute flight over the city, but I'd also hitch a ride on a 3 hour whale watching adventure out in the Pacific. Man, Sydney was just that awesome!
Day 3 in Sydney. Here's a fact: It's a sin to leave Australia without hitting the beach. No seriously, you will go to Hell and there's just nothing you can do about it.
I couldn't believe it, I finally made it to Sydney! It was Day 2, and after a tiresome debacle at the airport in the previous day, I woke up excited and ready to explore Australia's most famous city.
Ahh, Sydney, Australia, have you been? It was the next stop on my “F**k It” world tour. Wait, what? That's right, my "F**k it" world tour. It was the first time in my life where I'd successfully completed a contract with my job, saved a ton of money, and said "F**k it, I'm going to spend the next 3 months traveling wherever I want, when I want, and nothing could stop me."
Did you know that Dubai’s Palm Islands are a collection of 3 artificial islands—Palm Jumeirah, Palm Deira, and Palm Jebel Ali—shaped like palm trees with a crescent on top? Seriously, here’s how they appear from space:
Day 3 in Dubai kicked off with an afternoon ride on the Blue Line of the Big Bus Tour, which covered Dubai Marina and the city’s Tallest Block.
It was Day 2 in Dubai, and I discovered that the city had its very own “hop on/hop off” Big Bus Tour **Yeahhhhh** I firmly believe that bus tours are one of the best ways to not only explore top attractions across a travel destination, but are also a fantastic way to view and get a feel of the city’s landscape. And here... we... go!
It was my last night in Dubai. And my final adventure? A special trip to the desert for a little camelback riding and watching an Eastern sunset over the dunes. B-o-o-y-a-h.
It was Day 1 in Dubai, and I paid 500 AED ($136) for a ticket to the 148th, 125th and 124th floor observation decks of the Burj Khalifa, dubbed "At the Top". Expensive, right? In fact, that’s the most I’ve ever paid for an observation deck, and I’ve been to plenty.
Scorching hot but definitely worth the trip. That's right, my 4-day adventure in Dubai turned out to be one of the best vacations ever!
Why the Combination of Sand, Waves, Food & Art Make Venice Beach One of My Favorite Places in the World
Venice Beach, located along the coast of Los Angeles, California, USA, is one of my top places to visit in the world. I’ve been there plenty of times and, whether to celebrate a special occasion, entertain a date, hang-out with friends, clear my thoughts, or do a little soul searching, I’ve always felt that it’s the single most significant place in my life that has consistently improved my spirit and overall sense of well-being every time I’ve visited. But, just what does Venice Beach possess to make it my ‘happiest place on Earth?’
Let’s get straight to it—Singapore is thee sh*t. Never in a million years would have I imagined it to be one of the top travel destinations I’ve ever visited, and hell, I was only there 4 days! A Real NASA Space Shuttle in Los Angeles? Yep! Why You Need to Visit Mission 26: The Big Endeavor Exhibit at the California Science Center
I’ve been a fan of astronomy for as long as I can remember. Whether reading up on planets, catching documentaries covering NASA’s countless feats, or learning about the physics of the universe, the subject has always grabbed my attention for its realm of unlimited possibilities that bring about an ever-evolving mix of concepts, equations, designs, and missions that constantly test the limits of the human imagination.
Ah, South Korea—it’s the first place I landed after quitting my 1st teaching job in China of 4 years. I hit Seoul and Busan, Korea’s two largest and most popular cities, to be exact.
Who said Seoul should have all the fun? Busan is South Korea’s 2nd largest city and is just as dope Ever been? Matter of fact, have you ever even heard of it!? Here are 10 reasons you should get off your couch, pack your bags, and visit Busan ASAP.
Anime, samurais, beautiful women, video games, martial arts—oh boy, I’ve wanted to visit Japan for as long as I can remember, and it’d take living in China for 2 years before I’d finally get my chance.
Day 3-5 in Tokyo. The previous night—well spent partying it up at a hip-hop club in Shibuya—was beyond lit. In fact, it was so fun that I wound up oversleeping til' the mid-afternoon and missing out on a much wanted voyage to Mount Fuji. Biggest. Travel. Regret. Ever.
