Singapore's just one of those places that you don't hear too much about travel-wise, but once you've visited, you're depressed for a week straight after realizing just how much your life sucks. Yep, Singapore's that awesome, and if you're thinking about paying her a trip, here's my list of 4 great places to stay in when visiting Singapore.
Ah, Chinatown. Yep, Singapore's got one. Want to stay in a great location in Singapore? Check. Want to have food access until the wee hours of the morning. That's right. Find it best to do all your souvenir shopping in the same place you live? Not bad. Looking to stay someplace cheap but decent? Hell yeah! Chinatown Singapore baby, you can't go wrong.
Alright, so you like to party and need quick access to Singapore's hottest bars and clubs. Why not stay at Clark Quay? Not only is it a cool place to hang out, eat, and grab some grub, but it's also artsy, a docking point for the Singapore River cruise, and not too far from the Commercial Business District (CBD) and Marina Bay. My hotel, Hotel Conforto, was situated within a 5min. walk of Clarke Quay MRT Station and of Clark Quay itself.
I got a bird’s eye view of Sentosa Island via cable car and that was all the convincing I needed to list it as one of the top places to stay in Singapore.
You want to get away from the city and chill out on a beach? Check. Sentosa Island's home to Palawan Beach, the point of Asia nearest to the equator.
Traveling with the fam' and looking for some fun and exciting activities to enjoy? Well Sentosa Island's got Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Tiger Sky Tower, water parks, and a hole gang of hotels with massive pools.
If these pictures aren't due justice enough to showcase all the amazing things Sentosa Island has to offer then ... well then you must just be insane. End of story.
Hell, I didn't even stay at Marina Bay Sands and it changed my life. No kidding! You want the BEST bird's eye view of Singapore? How about an infinity pool? A rooftop bar? Marina Bay Sands got it all.
Marina Bay Sands sits in the Marina Bay, which is arguably Singapore's top destination for tourists. Large crowds, good vibes, lots of things to do, awesome architecture to look at--and that's just from the ground level!
You're into constantly posting your travel adventures on social media? Well Marina Bay's got enough Instagram worthy shots to last a lifetime. And that's not an exaggeration.
And then there's the top of Marina Bay Sands. There's a Skybar, lounge/club, and observation deck. Check out the view, toss back a few drinks, socialize/mingle, and hit the dance floor at 57 floors up. Not a bad combo right?
Wrong! Let's not forget about Marina Bay Sand's Infinity Pool--a vanishing edge pool that you've probably never seen anything like, at least, that high up. Taking a dip in that pool is worthy enough of the hotel's steep price tag.
As for the rooms--I didn't even get a chance to see them. And who cares? What I did see at Marina Bay Sands was more than enough to convince me to stay there on my next visit. Yep, I won't be making that mistake again, and neither should you!
Well there you have it folks. If you’ve been to Singapore and have any other places to recommend, please feel free to let the world know down below! Safe and happy travels!
