My mixed martial arts (MMA) coach taught me a valuable lesson today. It was nearing the end of class and not a second after setting a timer for 3 minutes of Jiu-jitsu rolling—he was my partner—I had requested that we start from the ground and on our knees, which is a common neutral starting position in a match. I sprained a big toe in the 2 weeks prior and didn't want to risk bringing on more pain by beginning in a stand up position with takedowns. Silly me.
Thank God for Seinfeld! Seriously, not only is it my favorite show of all time, but it's also the GREATEST show to exit since the dawn of civilization.
After nearly 6 years of living in China, I can't believe that I've just finally gotten around to spending at least thirty minutes to an hour each day exercising. Well, sort of.
I really do not know why I don't read more. I really should. I guess I just fit in with most people in the world that rarely do the beneficial things they ought to be to doing to live a much more mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy life.
Everybody needs a little gangsta’ rap music in his or her life, period. No matter the gender, race, culture, country, or social hierarchy, it’s an undeniable truth that everyone arrives at that moment in life where you need to just let loose and brag, curse, talk sh*t, wipe the “dirt off your shoulder”, and liberate all the stress and sheltered bravado that’s been built up over the day, week, month, year, you name it.

Hip-hop has long been my all-time favorite musical genre. As a 90’s baby I grew up listening to Tupac, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, DMX, and Eminem, just to name a few, and currently enjoy present day acts like Drake, Nipsey Hussle, and J. Cole. I enjoy other genres as well, including R & B, oldies, pop, and have especially grown fond of progressive house music. Furthermore, though not a huge fan, I occasionally take pleasure in hits from the world of Rock music. In fact, a few songs from the genre have even managed to make it on my favorites list.
Akira Toriyama's Dragonball Z was one my favorite cartoon television shows and animes as a teen. I can recall racing home after school to catch its evening time slot on Cartoon Network and drawing all of my favorite characters, including Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, and Brolly, in a scrapbook that I managed to turn into an awesome wall poster. Today, I even have a tattoo of Goku inscribed on my bicep to depict my admiration of the character and series.
I love catching Black superheroes in action. After all, there’s nothing like seeing someone that looks and speaks like you kicking some a**. As a kid growing up in the 90’s, powerhouse comic book companies like Marvel and DC Comics introduced me to a variety of black superheroes that played crucial roles in everything from maintaining balance in the universe, defending our galaxy, and saving planet Earth, to safeguarding America and ridding the ‘hood’ of gangbangers and drug dealers! Here’s a list of my top 7 Black superheroes in the superhero universe.
Nothing relaxes me more than sitting back and watching a great movie. I've loved watching movies for as long as I can remember. My father always had access to the latest flicks on DVD, err, I mean, VHS, and the local Magic Johnson Theater across the street was the hippest movie joint for everybody around the way.
