Things to Do in Kunshan, China + ATTRACTIONS + UNIQUE EXPERIENCES. SEE MY TRAVEL ADVENTUReS IN KUNSHAN! | by a FORMER Kunshan Expat
Kunshan, China - Hey Kunshan expats! Looking for things to do in China during this upcoming National Holiday week? Well, look no further! I've compiled a brief list of top places and attractions to check out in China. The descriptions are short, so take it upon yourselves to do the research. I'm trying my best to write articles of every one of my travels so bear with me. Safe and happy travels! LESHAN GIANT BUDDHA - LESHAN The Leshan Giant Buddha Statue is probably one of THEE best statues you can find across all of China. The picture above is one thing, but seeing its massive frame up close is even more surreal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! RAINBOW MOUNTAINS - ZHANGYE Yes, this picture is REAL and unedited. Located in China's Gansu Province, the mountains are perhaps one of the most beautifully naturally occurring landforms you'll probably ever see in your life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. GUAN YIN OF THE SOUTH SEA - SANYA Sanya has some of the best beaches around China. In fact, many of your Chinese colleagues can probably tell you that the picturesque area is a hotspot for weddings and honeymoons. Kick back under palm trees, drink from real coconuts, or watch a live show full of beautiful mermaids on a cruise ship. Plus, there's a giant Buddha statue (pictured up above) that you surely don't want to miss! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. "AVATAR" MOUNTAINS - ZHANGJIAJIE Remember the Hallelujah Mountains in James Cameron's blockbuster hit Avatar? Well, go hiking along the place that served as the inspiration for their look! Awesome! RECOMMEND HUANGSHAN "YELLOW MOUNTAIN" This is probably China's most famous mountain. The scenery around the mountain is absolutely stunning. The best part, though, is catch the sunrise! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. LI RIVER - GUILIN Guilin is my favorite place in China; well, as far as natural scenery goes. Remember in Jurassic Park how they could take the trucks around the park on a designated path to see the dinosaurs? Well, imagine taking a 5hr. cruise down Li River and catching sight of some of the most beautiful arrangement of karst mountains just a few meters away from you! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. HEAD STATUE OF MAO ZEDONG - CHANGHSHA If you're into seeing statues and cool cultural and historical landmarks, make a trip down to Changsha and check out the giant head statue of Mao Zedong. It's truly a spectacular experience to see it in person! RECOMMEND. GUANGZHOU I've heard many negative things about Guangzhou, but after paying the city a visit a few years back, I had a chance to see that it's one of the most beautiful cities in China. Make sure to check out Canton Tower! RECOMMEND. SHENZHEN If you love Hong Kong as much as I do, Shenzhen is the best place to experience the aesthetic style of Hong Kong without leaving the Chinese Mainland. Plus, there are so many attractions and things to do in the city, and Hong Kong is actually just a short distance away! RECOMMEND. XIAMEN Xiamen is also a great place to visit for its beaches and seafood. Just make sure to check the weather before you go! RECOMMEND. CHENGDU Chengdu is a massive city that is home to China's pandas and the world's largest building, which is equipped with a mall, movie theater, hotels, restaurants, and massive indoor swimming pool. RECOMMEND. CHONGQING Chongqing is a surprisingly scenic city, and much of it reminds me of San Francisco. Highlights of my trip to Chongqing include the most beautiful cruise I've ever taken and crossing over the Yangtze River via cable car. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. TERRA COTTA WARRIORS - XI'AN If you're looking to learn more about China's ancient culture, a stop in Xi'an might be the perfect place for you. RECOMMEND. CHECK OUT ATTRACTIONS NEAR KUNSHAN!
